Pattern: Flight Delight

This bright and cheerful quilt is a series of blocks containing an unusual shape that forms wings, interspersed with horizontal and vertical diamonds. I made templates from lightweight plexiglass to cut the fabrics, including nearly 300 individual wings. I used a lively, patterned lime green for both the narrow outer border and binding to simulate a wide binding. The narrow border also helped to stabilize the large top that contains many angled seams, and to prevent it from stretching.
