About the Quilter
My professional life has been spent in the analytical world as a CPA. You must be wondering -- how did quilting and accounting ever “get together”?
More than once along the way, in professional seminars, I heard the term “transferrable skills”. Quilting is the bridge that transports me between the creative and the analytical, using transferrable skills like visualization, precision, and attention to detail.
Continuous learning, and working with color lights me up! I vary patterns, fabrics, and styles of quilts to expand my repertoire, and skills. I love modern and contemporary styles, styles that blend old and new, and putting surprise fabric selections on the backs of my quilts. I enjoy customizing a quilt to fit just right. Quilts evoke emotion and make the user feel loved and special.
In 2020, with some extra time on my hands, I enrolled in a class to learn machine appliqué techniques and soon resumed this art form that I love in a brand new way. I purchased a fantastic new sewing machine, and plunged head first into the 21st century of quilting, producing 20 all-different custom quilts in just 2 years.
